CREATIVE COLLAGE | AGES 13+

Collage is an accessible and underrated medium that appears in many facets of life, including design, fine art, film, and music, and has been part of the creative practices of countless celebrated artists from Andy Warhol to Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse to Eric Carle, and many more! In this workshop, students will explore various methods of image making through collage, combining processes, mixed media, and juxtaposing found and original imagery to create unique pieces of art. The history of collage will be discussed, and a variety of techniques will be covered in this workshop! No experience necessary, but always welcome.

PRINTMAKING EXPERIENCE FOR YOUTH | AGES 6–12

As the season encourages gatherings with family and friends, decorations, and sharing special moments with loved ones, this class offers students the chance to experiment and play while creating their own unique handmade, hand-printed prints. Students will use stamps, stencils, foam plates, and even LEGOs to design and learn basic relief printing. They will create spooky images of Jack-O-Lanterns, ghosts, ghouls, and other monsters, custom holiday cards, and paper ornaments. All materials will be provided!

HANDPRINTED HOLIDAY CARDS | AGES 13+

‘Tis the season to get cozy by the fire with family and friends, decorations, and sharing moments with loved ones. In this workshop, students can experiment and play to create their own unique handmade, handprinted holiday cards! Carve a small linoleum block, cut stencils, use stamps, or try some monoprint techniques to create custom holiday cards and paper ornaments! No printmaking experience necessary. Materials included.

LEARN LINOCUT PRINTMAKING | AGES 16+

In this class, students will embark on an inspiring journey into the world of relief printing. Students will unlock their creative potential through methods that resonate with their unique aesthetic and conceptual visions. This class welcomes students of all levels. Prepare to immerse yourself in the art of printmaking! All materials included.

BLACK HISTORY PRINTMAKING | AGES 13+

Elizabeth Catlett, Kara Walker, Jacob Lawrence, Kerry James Marshall, Faith Ringold - to just name a handful of the many African American artists who have helped change the course of art history! In this relief printmaking workshop, students will learn the basics of carving, registration, printing with and without a press to create a portrait or narrative linocut print inspired by Black History Month and then many artists and individuals who have helped shape the course of history. Students will carve a block and print in class leaving with a small edition of their piece! No experience necessary.

ACCORDION BOOKS | AGES 13+

Curious about book forms? This beginning course will discuss various structures books can take while specifically exploring the Accordion Book form. Students will learn the basics of creating hardcovers and variations on the accordion structure while walking away with their own handmade book(s)! Students can bring their own decorative papers to use, while also having materials provided! No experience necessary!
